All donations are tax-deductible and Zakat-eligible. Aside from any credit card or ACH fees, your entire donation goes directly to cash assistance. Your donation will not be used for administrative costs or other partner programs.

The Zakat Fund of NYC serves to distribute Zakat locally, to facilitate the Islamic tradition of giving Zakat within our community. Donations made to the Zakat Fund of NYC are distributed as unrestricted direct cash grants to Zakat-eligible individuals and families in need, in the NYC Metro Area, through the Zakat Relief Fund.

With your support, we issue unrestricted cash grants ranging from $600 to $3000 (avg. $1700) to hundreds of families in need.  These grants are transformative for those in poverty, and with your donations, we can help even more people in need. The Zakat Fund of NYC has developed an application and screening process to ensure as reasonably as possible that funds are going to those in need, while maintaining the dignity of the recipients. Every year, the demand for assistance is greater than we can fulfill, so please donate generously.
